Ultra-High Speed Flexibility
Despite the "3200" in its name, the film's true native ISO is actually around 1000. However, it is specifically engineered to be "push-processed" (intentionally underexposed in-camera and overdeveloped in the lab) to ISO 3200, 6400, or even higher, making it incredibly adaptable to whatever lighting you are working with.

Low-Light and Action Specialist
Because of its immense sensitivity to light, it is the go-to black-and-white film for shooting in dark environments without a flash. It allows you to use fast shutter speeds to freeze motion at night, in dimly lit indoor venues, or at concerts.

Distinctive "Delta" Grain Structure
Any film this fast will inherently produce visible grain, but Ilford uses a specialized core-shell emulsion (their "Delta" technology). This results in a pronounced but very tight, aesthetically pleasing grain structure that feels atmospheric and artistic rather than muddy or distracting.
