Ilford Delta 3200

Ilford Delta 3200 Professional is an ultra-high-speed black-and-white negative film designed to excel in the most challenging low-light conditions. While its true sensitivity is approximately ISO 1000, it can safely be pushed to EI 3200 and beyond, allowing you to use fast shutter speeds to freeze action without relying on a flash. Renowned for its rich tonality, wide exposure latitude, and a pronounced yet aesthetically pleasing grain structure, this film is the ultimate choice for night photography, indoor sports, dimly lit concerts, and gritty photojournalism.

Shooting Ilford Delta 3200 - 35mm
01
Ultra-High Speed Flexibility
Despite the "3200" in its name, the film's true native ISO is actually around 1000. However, it is specifically engineered to be "push-processed" (intentionally underexposed in-camera and overdeveloped in the lab) to ISO 3200, 6400, or even higher, making it incredibly adaptable to whatever lighting you are working with.
02
Low-Light and Action Specialist
Because of its immense sensitivity to light, it is the go-to black-and-white film for shooting in dark environments without a flash. It allows you to use fast shutter speeds to freeze motion at night, in dimly lit indoor venues, or at concerts.
03
Distinctive "Delta" Grain Structure
Any film this fast will inherently produce visible grain, but Ilford uses a specialized core-shell emulsion (their "Delta" technology). This results in a pronounced but very tight, aesthetically pleasing grain structure that feels atmospheric and artistic rather than muddy or distracting.
04
Wide Exposure Latitude and Tonality
The film is designed with a relatively low native contrast. This deliberate choice helps it retain impressive detail in both deep shadows and bright highlights, giving you a very broad tonal range that is easy to manipulate and add contrast back into when scanning or printing in the darkroom.
